Children Care Proceedings

Tel: 01344 622141

Has a social worker contacted you to say that The Local Authority is considering whether your child should be removed from you or has this happened to a relative?

Are you involved in a children's case where the court has decided that the Local Authority should now become involved?

If so, you need to have urgent legal advice and our team of expert lawyers is able to represent you and guide you through the process. We handle cases sympathetically, yet with clear advice.

The law relating to children is highly specialised and dealing with child care matters requires solicitors with in-depth knowledge and experience.

We act for parents and also children (through their appointed guardians) as well as other family members (grandparents, step-parents, uncles, aunts, etc) in a wide range of proceedings including:

  • Child protection - representation at meetings with the Local Authority prior to the possible issue of Court proceedings
  • Care proceedings
  • Applications for contact with a child in care
  • Applications to discharge a care order
  • Placement and Adoption
